Cherry

Cherry is a gorgeous multicolored hard wood. When raw it has a pinkish brown hue with the occasional shades of white, pink and sometimes green.  Cherry is characterized by pin knots, cat’s paw clusters, and worm marks.

Oak

Oak is an open grain wood that ranges in color from white to yellow and it can even be reddish-brown. Oak also can have mineral streaks that are green, yellow, or black. Oak is the most cost effective of the major species.

Maple

Maple is a strong and fine wood. It is usually off-white in color but can also contain hues of yellow-brown and pink in its raw state. Maple is also prone to having burling, bird’s eye marks and grain variations.

Hickory

Hickory is also a strong wood. It is known for its varied and flowing patterns. When hickory is finished, colors can range from light to deep brown on the same door. On top of that, it may also have knots and mineral streaks.
